Anna

The whole idea behind my piece is there is this man who is walking around town very depressed. He feels so hopeless that he eventually collapses on the sidewalk. Then he smells and sees this little coffee place up ahead, gets up off the ground and slowly becomes happier until he is in front of the building and overcome with joy.

At the very end of the animation, the name of the coffee shop "Dolca Aroma" is made out of cut paper in the style of the original logo. I used to work at this place and we always made signs out of funky construction paper or wrote the specials with colorful chalk on blackboards, so that's why I decided to use this pink-ish color for the type.

(When I uploaded this to the website the background runs at a slower pace than the puppet and music.)

Strengths:
I liked your concept for this piece, I think the man slowly being drained until he comes upon the coffee shop was a good idea. The music also worked well with it, although there some spots in the sound file that could have been polished. The colors (going from grey/blue=sad, then bright=happy to see the coffee shop) was a good idea. The simple but clean lined background was also a very nice touch.

Weaknesses:
The lettering for "Dolca Aroma" was a bit hard to read. If this was an ad I'd probably forget about it right after seeing it, only because there wasn't something more to get me involved. (Such as an address, a clearly stated name, hours, etc.) I didn't really understand the part where the man fell down. Only because he gets up and is all better before the coffee shop is shown, and that was confusing for me. Maybe he should fall down closer to the coffee shop?

The dancing flowers at the end made me smile. :) Good job.
